While the April 2nd Statewide COVID-19 report showed another gain to a new total of 241 positive tests in Montana, Ravalli County remained at 1 positive case. Over a hundred tests have been performed in the valley. The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services 4:30 p.m. news release showed 8 new cases in Gallatin County (Bozeman) with their new total at 93. Billings had 35. Other results included Kalispell at 18, Missoula 17, Helena 13, Mineral County and Toole County each with 6 and Lake County with 4. There were 238 new tests since April 1 and Montana has tested 5,426 so far. Five have died and 24 people are currently hospitalized.

In the Ravalli County COVID-19 Incident Management Team Thursday update, Dr. Carol Calderwood defended the Stay At Home restrictions reminding the public that three of Montana's COVID-19 deaths were in a county smaller than Ravalli and the age range of positive tests have been from 10 to 80. She noted "counties all around us are continuing to have new cases every day. We are not exempt by our location or population. We have done so well. Keep up the good work, keep helping your neighbors. Keep Distancing."
