The Ravalli Electric Cooperative held a grand opening Thursday, December 19, at its new headquarters along US 93 north of Victor. The REC's former site in Corvallis had served the community since 1946 and the staff moved to the new facility November 19th. Manager Mark Grotbo said the co-op studied other co-op buildings and incorporated ideas that helped design the complex at 143 Bell Crossing West.

Grotbo and Board President Rex Griffin addressed the crowd Thursday afternoon, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony from the Bitterroot Chamber of Commerce. Refreshments and tours of the business offices were included in the afternoon activities. Grotbo thanked MMW Architects and Quality Construction Company for their work in bringing the project in under-budget and on-time. The former site of REC has been acquired by the Corvallis School District.
