The First Friday event for Hamilton this month will be for the kids and their families. A shepherd will be wandering around Main Street Friday evening December 4, looking for sheep.

It's the second annual "Sheep trail" and involves small toy sheep that were hand-made by the Knotty Knitters of the Bitterroot. The dozen sheep have been spread throughout the stores in downtown Hamilton. Kids need to get a map from participating stores and fill in the blanks as they find the sheep.

The sheep are small enough to fit on a shelf (see photo) or in a store window. They are all different sizes and colors. When the map is filled out, (and you've got a couple of weeks to accomplish that) turn it in and the sheep will be given away to winners in a random drawing December 19 by the Hamilton Downtown Association.

And it is First Friday, so many Hamilton businesses are open until at least 8 p.m. and there will be special entertainment and snacks.
