The weather folks have been talking about autumn almost too much lately. And, as I look around the Bitterroot Valley, I see the signs. For instance, trees in Hamilton are starting to turn into their colorful fall costumes. Not all, just a few on South 4th Street, for example, and on other streets throughout town. (see photo above) But that's not the only sign of the end of summer. Scroll down to see what the top of St. Mary's Peak west of Stevensville looked like Wednesday morning, September 18. (see photo below) Of course, it melted a little later. Still, it's got to be a little cold at the lookout. Officially, autumn begins at 1:50 a.m. MDT Monday morning, September 23. Let's see, where are my boots and mittens?
