The Sun has been active the past few days, and if you were lucky (like Mike Daniels), you saw some Northern Lights early last week. More aurora over the Bitterroot Valley may be coming our way in the coming days or weeks.

This week, the flare in the photo (on the left side) sent some protons on a glancing blow to Earth. A minor storm started this morning (Wednesday), but the auroral band has not reached down to our latitude.

Besides, we have forecasts for cloudy skies in Western Montana for the next few days.

Scientists have noted that this storm on the Sun has been "active" and was the same one responsible for last week's glow in the sky. KLYQ will be checking the NASA and NOAA sites regularly, because we really hate missing a chance to see the Northern Lights!
