Easy fanboys, it's not what you think. We've been hearing a lot of cross-franchise pollination over the past week, particularly since Disney shelled out $4.05 billion for the rights to 'Star Wars,' effectively placing Pixar, Marvel and a galaxy far, far away under the same roof. That collection may grow in the future, but for now, Doctor Who (David Tennant)'s upcoming appearance on 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' is strictly voiceover. Find out who the former Doctor plays inside!

Worlds are colliding for 'Star Wars' fans across the globe, but few casting announcements could make fans as happy as hearing that beloved former 'Doctor Who' star David Tennant will lend his voice to an upcoming episode of 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars.' IGN first reported the news, clarifying that Tennant will portray elder droid Huyang, known throughout his service to be instrumental in the construction of any and all Jedi lightsabers.

Tennant will appear in this coming Saturday's episode "A Test of Strength," in which a number of Ahsoka (Ashley Eckstein)'s young pupils move toward constructing their first lightsabers. Supervising director Dave Filoni spoke to IGN about casting the iconic 'Doctor Who' star in his franchise, saying:

As a fan that has the privilege of playing in the 'Star Wars' galaxy, I am always on the lookout for others who appreciate, and would enjoy, an opportunity to go on an adventure in George’s galaxy far, far away. When I heard the Doctor himself, David Tennant, was a fan of 'Star Wars' I knew I had to find a way to get in contact with him to see if he would perform on 'The Clone Wars.'

I thought David was perfect for the part and he did not disappoint. He delivered a performance which impressed even the Master himself, George Lucas.
