After being closed Friday morning, January 29, the Stevensville Driver License Office will now offer the newly designed Montana license and identification cards.

According to information from Marlene Bolin, the cards have new security features to reduce driver license fraud and identity theft. A new lamination process required new equipment to be installed in the office.

Bolin also encouraged the public to use the new appointment procedures. Those needing renewals, tests, etc., can log into the statewide Department of Justice website, pick the location, type of appointment and day you'd like to come in.

The website also has information about required paperwork, fees, written and road tests, and types of driver education programs.

Also, you can call the toll-free number - 1-866-450-8034.

The Stevensville office is next to the Stevensville Main Street Association office.
