It's a crowd of Bitterrooters, singing Carols and carrying flashlights, walking along Stevensville's Main Street to the corner of 3rd and Main. It's a gentle evening stroll, part of the town's annual "Country Christmas" weekend December 1st.

Starting at 10 a.m. December 1st, the historic St. Mary's Mission and Museum will open their gift shop and invites the public to view their outdoor Nativity Scene.

Stevensville' "First Friday" retail event starts at 5 p.m., with entertainment, arts and crafts, refreshments and more.

The Bitterroot Valley Model Railroad Club will be runnin' the trains from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the basement level of the Kohl building behind Valley Drug.

Groovz Studio in Stevensville will have fun for the kids Friday evening.

The Burnt Fork Veterinary Clinic will have pet photos with Santa from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with proceeds going to the Bitterroot Humane Association. They have costumes for your pets, too!

The North Valley Public Library will have music with the "Squeeze Box Sisters," an accordion quintet at 6 p.m. in the Community Room.

The "Parade of Lights" crowd will gather at Veteran's Park, starting at 6:15 p.m., accompanied by the Stevensville High School Choir. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. with the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree at Veteran's Park.

The parade will stop at the corner of 3rd and Main where there will be a live Nativity Scene, a recital of the Christmas story and more singing. Cookies and hot chocolate will be available. There will be horse-and-wagon rides and Santa will be making an appearance, too.

At the Stevensville Playhouse, the musical "Annie" will be on stage at 7:30 p.m. The play runs December 1 - 2, Dec 8 - 9, Dec 15 - 16 at 7:30 p.m. and December 3, 10, 17 at 2 p.m.
