Sun, Wind, Snow and Rain on the Bitterroot River Saturday
It was a glorious day on the water this weekend but the weather was a bit wild on Saturday. In Montana, that is to be expected.
To be honest, we were both questioning going on Saturday around noon as the wind was whipping, the snow was falling and even more so in areas we would be traveling to. Yet there was a chance for some sun. I was running late, but at about 2 p.m. started to head down the 'root and there was some sun, but those clouds were lingering and were offering some showers in the form of rain and snow.
The last photo was the way it was all day. Half-sun but half storm-like clouds. That's in the Hamilton area where we set off from. OK, enough talk about the weather. Yes, the weather was wild but the fishing was awesome! I went with Tom Osen a guide at Grizzly Hackle. He made the day great with warm food, laughs and relaxing but fishy fun.
We got a late start and so we ended up taking the boat out in the dark but thankful for lights and phones. The day was still cold, but catching fish warms you up! The Skwala game is not on yet.. but will be soon.
Wasn't five minutes and we had fish!
