A 45-year-old man who fought with another man at a Missoula homeless shelter has died of his injuries.

David Casarez, an engineer and web developer, moved from Texas to California's Silicon Valley in the hopes of working in the tech industry.

On Sunday, Missoula Police arrested John Ostermann for allegedly assaulting another man near a store front on East Broadway.

"I beat my dog with a hammer, I did it, your honor," said Shawn Finberg in Missoula Justice Court on Thursday.
