Ravalli County Public Health reported three new cases of COVID-19 Monday. That brings the total of current active cases to 11 in the valley. Public information officer Joseph Hopkins said the new infections are a man in his 50s, a woman in her 40s and a woman in her 60s. Only the woman in her 40s had symptoms. The man was the only one with a confirmed exposure to another positive case. Contact tracing is underway on all three. Of the 11 active cases, one person is hospitalized.

Flu season is almost here and health providers and pharmacies have the flu vaccine available. Public Health officials are urging you get the flu shot this year. In fact, Public Health will be offering flu vaccines by appointment every Tuesday, starting this week. Please call ahead to schedule at (406) 375-6672.

Public health nurses will provide shots to all community members, including privately insured, medicaid, uninsured and underinsured people. The cost for uninsured is $10. At this time, Children's flu shots for Medicaid and uninsured are not yet available.
