The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services reports 4 new positive COVID-19 Montana cases Saturday, April 18, and 7 new cases on Sunday, April 19. Missoula County had 3 new cases Sunday and Gallatin County (Bozeman) had 1 - all of those in the 20-29 age range. Elsewhere Sunday, 2 new positive tests in Billings, and one new case in Pondera County. In Western Montana, the Sunday report had 7 in Lincoln County, 37 in Flathead County, 5 each in Lake and Ravalli Counties and 1 in Beaverhead County. The Sunday morning report noted 10 deaths. There are 18 patients under current hospitalization and 243 people have recovered. The DPHHS reported 10,898 Montanans have been tested.

The Ravalli County COVID-19 Incident Management Team reported the first three cases in the valley have recovered. Two people remain in isolation. Their personal contacts are under quarantine. Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton thanked Sean Smothers of 0241 Tactical for donations of face shields for the deputies and detention officers. He also thanked Missoula's Walmart Superstore for a donation of hand sanitizers and disinfectant cleaning wipes which are being used in the patrol cars, the detention center and the sheriff's office.
