Whitefish Surprises Broncs at Divisional
The Hamilton Broncs were upset by the Whitefish Bulldogs in the opening day of the Western A Divisional Tournament in Ronan. The Broncs, number two ranked from the Southwestern District, were outscored by the number three team out of the northwest by a score of 49 to 42. Hamilton had an early lead 9 to 4 after the first period, then fell behind by two points at the half 17 to 15. Whitefish went on scoring runs, led by Justin Conklin who made six 3-pointers in the game. Hamilton trailed 35-28 at the end of three periods and, after successful free-throws at the end of the game, Whitefish came out on top 49 to 42.
Hamilton will play a loser-out game against either Frenchtown or Browning at 11 a.m. Friday morning. On the girls side of things, Corvallis and Whitefish were winners in the tournament Thursday. We are also carrying Hamilton Lady Bronc divisional action. Their next game is tonight at around 6:30 p.m.
