Winter Special Olympics Take Over Lost Trail Jan. 26-27
This year's Winter Special Olympics at Lost Trail Powder Mountain will be Tuesday and Wednesday, January 26 and 27. Opening ceremonies are Tuesday at about 2:30 p.m. in front of the lodge.
As always, for 35 years, the competition will be welcomed by the Lost Trail management and staff. The competitors will be skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding and more. There's also a dance for the athletes Tuesday evening at the Bitterroot River Inn in Hamilton.
Volunteers are always needed to help inside and outside the lodge and no winter sports skills are needed. Event Coordinator Randy Hodgson says to be prepared for lots of smiles. To volunteer, call Carla Christofferson at (406) 363-3028. The Stevensville Yellowjackets will be the host team this year, so the slogan is "Bee Calm & Buzz On."
