At around 4:15 Monday afternoon, a Missoula Police Officer observed a vehicle parked at the Zip Trip convenience store in the 1500 block of Toole Avenue. The vehicle did not have a license plate on it. When the vehicle began to pull out of the parking lot, the officer pulled out to follow them, but then the vehicle parked in the last parking spot before exiting the lot.

The officer began walking toward the suspect vehicle when one woman got out and stated her license plate was stolen a while ago and she was in the process of trying to get it replaced. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“What began as a consensual encounter, soon turned in to suspicion of drug involvement and use,” Welsh said. “The officer identified both parties in the vehicle. One woman was identified as 37-year-old Stephanie Onehorn. The officer learned that Onehorn was on probation and she contacted Onehorn’s probation officer who responded to the scene. The probation officer conducted a search of the vehicle and found methamphetamine.”

The probation officer located 10.83 grams of methamphetamine and a digital scale. Onehorn stated she got the methamphetamine from a friend named Andrea in the 2300 block of Burlington. She said Andrea told her to “get rid” of the methamphetamine. Court documents indicate Onehorn clarified she was selling the methamphetamine.

Onehorn was charged with one count of felony criminal possession with intent to distribute.
